Corporate Recovery and Insolvency

There are a large number of Isle of Man companies with assets and/or businesses located all over the world. Sometimes disputes arise between the owners. Sometimes the assets must be protected and/or recovered for the benefit of those who are ultimately entitled. Sometimes, somewhere in the world, litigation must be pursued on behalf of a company by an independent office holder. Sometimes a trading company runs into difficulties and cannot satisfy its creditors. Sometimes a structure needs to be re-organised. Sometimes companies need to distribute their capital to their members. Sometimes a company must be disposed of as no longer required. Sometimes a liquidator or receiver is needed.

Our Corporate Recovery and Insolvency specialists are here to help with all these matters.

The Corporate Recovery and Insolvency Services Department was originally established in 1984.

The department is headed by Paul Seaward, director, who is a UK licensed Insolvency Practitioner. He is supported by David Phillips, senior manager. Paul is listed by the Isle of Man Court as suitable for nomination as a Provisional Liquidator.

The expertise of our team is complemented by specialist support in such areas as taxation and international financial structures. In addition, through our membership of the PKF International Association, we can draw on the expertise of member firms around the world.

Where appropriate, Paul Seaward, as a licensed insolvency practitioner, is able to act jointly with a practitioner based in the UK in the administration of UK assignments with an Isle of Man dimension.

Our services include disposal of solvent companies (including members voluntary liquidations and dissolutions), receivership, debenture receivership, creditors' voluntary liquidation, bankruptcies, attendance at creditors' meetings and compulsory liquidation.
